Red and Dead but With Good Smelling Soap
As you may have noticed I spruced up the page with red for Valentine’s. This came about not because I’m a romantic (although my wife wishes it was) but because my daughter made heart shaped soap today. I’ve never made soap before but it was a fun and clean experience. That is up until the point of me realizing that I had to request a bar without dye because I could be allergic to it. It’s great when your daughter then responds that she already knows that and your soap is the white one without dye. It many ways that’s more loving that anything else she could have said. Isn’t romance and love just knowing the ins and outs of the person your with. Anticipating what could make them happy and following through. My wife loves Swiss Cake Rolls, and romance is sometimes just remembering to buy her a box at the store. For me, romance is giving in to that really bad subtitled film every once in awhile or pretending to listen when I complain about Penn State’s lack of an offensive playbook that works with the current personnel.
And then there are the freaking awards shows that are on tonight. The BAFTA’s and the Grammy’s are exactly why there should be no awards shows anymore. I kept catching glimpses of actors trying to be funny and then being funny when they were trying to be serious inter-cut with Fergie trying to sing and Kanye’s light up glasses. Even though I am glad the writer’s strike may be over, I kinda liked the shortened awards. It meant less time forced watching Beyonce, which is always a good thing.
So no love for the awards shows and much love for romantic encounters with Swiss Cake Rolls and soap. I might also add that I have much love for the parasites in my sinuses for finally leaving, or at least taking a vacation.
