Good Day and the Sukiyaki Fallout
Today was a grand day. Things are finally happening that make me smile from jobs to family. Today had the feeling of victory, you could smell it in the air. Perhaps it was the brief amount of warmness in the air or the fact that my daughter was human today. Some days are a bit different where I swear she is already experiencing mild to massive teenage mood swings. Today she was good! You always hope for the best but there are those days. So things are getting good, even if there is a massive workload to keep up on. I even had time to watch a movie this weekend (I also had time to go on a date with my wife where she proved yet again that even though I may be lucky, she is the better gambler).
The film could have the moment when things changed. You see I was watching a Japanese film called Sukiyaki Western Django by Takeshi Miike that actually had a cameo by Quentin Tarantino . In the midst of this unique film I realized that every film revolves around a film made by Akira Kurosawa. This film is nothing more than a weird western take on Yojimbo. Was I disappointed? Not really since it is damn hard to find a good original film and Miike was obviously playing with the idea that his film mimics Yojimbo. It’s just nice to know that my brain still works and is able to quickly make associations.
Add the film to neon lights merged with goodness and you have a great weekend and a wonderful reset of the attitude. I think the red color will stay a bit until green seems more appropriate.
