I have decided that the government should stop worrying about our economy and do something useful, buy each citizen a personal sound device that would blare a theme song when they entered a room. Each citizen should be given the right to have that theme song played whenever that are entering a meeting or just walking inside their home from a long days work. I truly believe that watching all of that pro-wrestling is beginning to subconsciously affect me.

So imagine yourself about to walk into a job interview. You are a bit stressed and nervous and that door opens. Just as you set foot inside the door, the first chords of “Highway to Hell” kick in. Feel the power of AC/DC as you, due to the amazing power of Angus, confidently stride into the room knowing your going to nail the interview. Now imagine if “Hit Me One More Time” was playing. If for any reason you think that Britney would be better, you may as well turn around and leave the interview right then and there. You see, picking a theme song could be a defining moment of our lives. Or perhaps we would have some system of theme song choosing where every 5 years we have the option of changing our song.

Or better yet, our government funded personal theme machine would have different settings for different situations. If I was Iron Man, I would have some speakers put in that suit and play “Iron Man “every single time I come across a villain (thanks to the trailer for making my dreams come true). So what would your theme songs be and for what situations? How about some Dethklok and their ode to coffee when someone is in your way at Starbucks. Oh yes, there will be pain if you don’t get the hell out of my way. Barista, I need my coffee now or I will awaken the beast of the no coffee trench of the coast of Colombia. Or perhaps I would let Angus usher me in as I let everyone know that the bus I’m driving is going straight to hell, and their gonna love it.

So another day goes by and I keep thinking that water is about the only thing that I should be drinking. I hate water though, it has no taste. I have no idea when this aversion set in, but I know for a fact that I now consume water as fast as I can so that I do not get an aftertaste. Get that, water has an aftertaste. It deeply disturbs me that for something that has no taste it has an aftertaste. That would be like telling someone it won’t hurt only to have it not hurt, until 3 days later. Perhaps it is only an aftertaste because I’ve killed my taste buds with coffee and tea (among other things such as ultra spicy Chinese food). Why do you torture me oh water gods! Ah, but here’s the catch. Bottled water does have an aftertaste because much of the bottled water is not from a glistening clean spring. Much of it comes from places that have aftertastes, such as my tap in my sink.

Aside from water I also seem to be an accidental cause person. I am not a supporter of PETA or of vegetarians. I have nothing against them personally, I just like to eat to meat. Preferably medium to medium rare if the steak is good. I also like to eat very strange creatures from the ocean, mostly without cooking them. I actually think this is more humane than frying or broiling (although I really do not mind the idea of a lobster screaming when put into a boiling pot of water, I’m sure I’d do the same thing). All of this is great, but here’s the kicker. I’m allergic to leather. More specifically the chemicals used in the tanning of leather. No leather belts or shoes. No leather chaps or masks. No leather… uh you get the picture. So here I am saving cows because I’m allergic to chemicals. Now I could go and get an untanned cow hide, but smell is a factor.

So what’s the point of all of this? I have effectively become a supporter of animal rights and water rights even though I don’t actively try and help at all. Just remember kids, accidental causes lurk where you least expect them. Drink up some agua and find me some vegan belts.

I just saw instruction on making a USB keyboard into a roll-up keyboard with stick on letters. My first reaction was I want this and where could I get an extra USB keyboard. That’s when I realized that there are already existing roll-up keyboards that can be bought for under $30. Those keyboards are waterproof and super tough. The homemade keyboard would be fragile at times and susceptible to coffee spillage. Why then would anyone want to make one rather than buy one?

How about not buying from the man? Actually, even making a keyboard means at one time or the other you bought from the man. I think the main reason is that by making it yourself, you can take pride in the fact that it was created by your own hands. In today’s world, anything can be bought (including souls according to ebay). We tend to work less with our hands and more with our minds, therefore we are left with this primal urge to create (the other primal urge to create). I want to make this keyboard and put my own spin on the keys. I want to birth my own roll-up keyboard so that the world will know that I am a creator of stuff. That stuff will be an icon for all other stuff makers. Bow down before my stuff making ability.

So when I eventually forget that I wanted to make this keyboard, someone remind me that I once wanted to make it. At least I have faith that the idea will stick with me for a day or two, maybe a USB keyboard in my basement is enough spurring on. Oh what a dilemma, to hack or not to hack.

Rain is a downer especially when you wake up to it, or sleep past your alarm and finally get up only to realize it’s raining. It never fails that the one day everyone needs to be up early is the day it rains and everyone wants to sleep in. If it was always sunny everyone would be wide awake and ready for the new day. Too bad that we have those days when all we want to do is go back to bed and curse the sky for opening up.

Is rain all bad? Well it does help things grow, except for us. It cleanses things, except for us. I’m beginning to think that rain is a joke on humanity. Although in the summer rain can be enjoyable, but only in the afternoon. Since lack of rain would decimate humanity, I deal with it by getting a larger coffee and splashing strangers as I jump in puddles.
